History

Unisantis® was founded in 2004 in order to develop a three dimensional transistor capable of transforming the semiconductor industry. Between 2004 and 2007 Professor Masuoka and his dedicated team investigated all aspects of three dimensional semiconductors through sophisticated simulation techniques and laid the foundation for the production of prototypes in a semiconductor facility.

In December 2007, Unisantis® signed a joint collaboration agreement with the Institute of Microelectronics in Singapore for the development of Surrounding Gate Transistors. The Institute of Microelectronics is a subsidiary of the Agency for Science, Research and Technology (ASTAR) of Singapore.

In 2009, the first functioning prototypes were successfully produced. From 2010 the transistors were continuously improved and refined. Unisantis® has now succeeded in developing SGT Technology® three dimensional semiconductors to the level where the technology is ready for commercialisation.
